About

A threat they never saw coming makes their perfect life seem vulnerable...

Darren Baxley has loved Helena West ever since their kindergarten teacher put their cots next to each other for nap time. It took Helena a good bit longer to come to the same conclusion. In Welcome to Wixby, readers learn about the love story that started the Baxley family. Darren (Bax) and Helena fall in love, start the bakery that becomes a staple to the people of Wixby, Georgia, and have two wonderful children, Myles and Becca.

Life seems perfect until a string of strange occurrences involving Myles' friend, Rand McGinnis, leave Darren and Helena unsure of what to do. Rand has an unhealthy attachment to Becca, and the pair set out to ensure that he stays away from their daughter.

And it seems to work. Helena is thrilled to see that Rand grows into a seemingly happy and well-adjusted teenager. Though Darren is still suspicious, he has to agree that Rand seems to have outgrown his infatuation with Becca.

Or has he? Just when they think the situation is handled, both Darren and Helena come to realize that Rand might not have lost interest in Becca at all--he just got better at hiding his true feelings.
This prequel novella to the Baxley Bakery series sets the stage for the events that happen in What She Doesn't Know.
