Question from reader: What made you decide to be an author?

Cat Leigh: I've wanted to be an author since I was around eight years old. I got really into the Shoes series by English author Noel Streatfeild. I read the books as fast as I could get my hands on them. I was so upset when I realized that I had read them all, and my mom had a piece of advice for me. She said if I wanted more books similar to the Shoes series, I should grow up and write them myself. That stuck with me, and (a lot) of years later I wrote my first book.
